Transmission Network

Transmission Network for Evacuation of Power from BBMB Projects. The power generation at BBMB Power stations is being evacuated through BBMB Power Transmission Network system, running into 3751.96 Circuit Km. length of 400 KV, 220 KV, 132 KV and 66KV transmission lines and 24 EHV Sub-Stations.

a) 400 KV Sub-Stations

400 kV Panipat

12/1976

It is the first 400kV BBMB substation constructed by BCB under Beas Project in 1969.  There are Six nos. 400kV bays, twenty two 220kV bays, ten 132kV bays. Connected to Dehar Power House through 400kV Dehar-Panchkula- Panipat Single Circuit line and Power Grid Dadri through 400kV Panipat-Dadri Single Circuit line.
2.

400 kV Bhiwani

17/06/1988 Second 400kV BBMB Substation constructed by BCB in 1983. Connected to Dehar Power House through Dehar-Rajpura-Bhiwani line and to Power Grid through 400kV Bhiwani-Bhiwani PGCIL Line.

b ) 200 KV Sub-Stations

1.

220 kV Ballabhgarh

17/11/1968 This sub-station is connected with Badarpur Thermal Power Station through 2 nos. 220KV Ballabgarh-BTPS circuits, with Samaypur through 3 nos. 220KV Ballabgarh-Samaypur circuits, with Charkhi Dadri through 1 no. 220KV Ballabgarh Charkhi Dadri circuit and with HPGCL, Faridabad Thermal through 66kV line.

2.

220 kV Samaypur

09/1988

Created for dispersal of Power from Singrauli and Rihand Super Thermal Power Station. Connected with 400kV PGCIL through four 400/220kV, 315MVA ICTs and with Faridabad Gas Power Plant (CCGT) through 220kV Double circuit line.

3.

220kV Narela

1977

The sub-station was constructed by BCB in the year 1972, and was completed and commissioned in the year 1977 by extending 2 Nos. 220 KV Buses from Grid Sub-Station of DVB (now DTL). The Sub-Station was handed over to BBMB on 05.09.1977 and is one of the radial Sub-Stations of BBMB.

4.

220 kV Delhi

1958

The sub-station was constructed by BCB under left Bank Power Project in 1950. It supplies power to DTL through 33kV feeders for which DTL pays rentals. Roof Top Solar Plant (80kWp) was installed on 29.01.2019.

5.

220kV Kurukshetra

12/1977 This Sub-Station was constructed by BCB under Beas Project and handed over to BBMB for operation and maintenance during Dec-1977. This Sub-Station is connected through 220 KV Single Circuit line to Jagadhari and Panipat.

6.

220 kV Jamalpur

18/11/1968

The Substation was first energized on 18.11.1968 after being constructed under Bhakra Right Bank Project when the power from Right Bank Bhakra was brought to this area through 220KV Bhakra –Jamalpur double circuit line. It feeds Punjab area.

7.

220kV Jalandhar

16/10/1969

The Sub-Station was erected under Bhakra Right Bank Project by BCB and was energized on 16.10.1969 on commissioning of 220KV Jamalpur-Jalandhar Line to carry Power of Bhakra Complex from 220KV Sub-Station, BBMB, Jamalpur to Jalandhar.  It feeds Punjab area.

8.

220 kV Hisar

23/02/1969

This substation was constructed by BCB under Bhakra Right Bank project and commissioned on 23.02.1969. It feeds Haryana and some parts of Rajasthan.

 9.

220 kV Sangrur

1968-69

This Sub Station was constructed by BCB under the scope of Bhakra Right Bank Project and commissioned during the year 1968-69. The Sub Station was further augmented during the year 1976, under the scope of Beas Project. It feeds Punjab area.

10.

220 kV Barnala

11/05/1987 This Sub Station was constructed by BCB under the Scope of Beas Project and commissioned on 11.05.1987 and handed over to BBMB on 01.10.1987. The 220KV Grid Sub Station Barnala is the only Switching Station.

11.

220 kV Dhulkote

1955 This sub-station was originally commissioned during 1955 on 132KV voltage level from Ganguwal – power house and subsequently with coming up of Bhakra Left Bank Power House, it was energized on 220KV voltage level during 1962. It is the first intermediate power take off substation on the 220KV Double Circuit Ganguwal-Delhi Transmission line emanating from Major inter linking substation, Ganguwal. It feeds Haryana and Chandigarh.

 12.

220 kV Jagadhari

31/05/1978 This Sub-Station was constructed by B.C.B. under Beas Project Stage-II and commissioned on 31.05.1978 and was subsequently handed over to BBMB on 31.05.1978 for operation and maintenance. This Sub-Station is the first intermediate power take off sub-station on the 220KV single circuit Ganguwal – Jagadhari – Kurukshetra - Panipat – Narela Line.

 13.

220 kV Charkhi Dadri

18/10/1977

This Substation was constructed by BCB under Beas Project Scheme and completed on 18.10.1977 after the commissioning of the bays and were taken on 22.10.77 by BBMB. It feeds Haryana and Rajasthan areas.

 14.

66 kV Chandigarh

1955 The Sub Station was constructed in 1955 under Bhakra Left Bank Project by the P.W.D. Electricity Branch for catering the power demand of Chandigarh and its surroundings.  Thereafter it remained with PSEB and was taken over by BBMB from PSEB during 1967, immediately after re-organization of Punjab and Haryana.
