In a commendable feat, the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has surpassed the annual generation targets set by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) for the financial year 2023-24 by an impressive 20.06%. Overcoming various challenges, BBMB's powerhouses
generated 11,645.705 Million Units (MUs) of power, exceeding the designated target of 9700 MUs by a substantial 1945.705 MU.
Contributing significantly to this achievement, the iconic Bhakra Dam played a pivotal role by generating 5749.19 MUs, surpassing the target of 4600 MUs by an impressive 24.98%. Similarly, the Pong Dam also demonstrated its prowess by generating 1806.94
MUs against a target of 1100 MUs, representing a remarkable 64.27% increase over the target. Additionally, Ganguwal & Kotla Power House added to the success by generating 1221.5 MUs against 1000 MUs, exceeding the target by 22.15%.
These accomplishments underscore BBMB's unwavering commitment to national goals. Throughout the fiscal year, BBMB maintained an exceptional cumulative plant availability of 99.04% across its powerhouses. Moreover, transmission availability for the same period
stood at an exemplary 99.65%, reflecting BBMB's steadfast dedication to reliability and efficiency in power generation and transmission.
A significant highlight of FY 2023-24 was the historic achievement on July 29, 2023, when BBMB attained a record-breaking generation of 62.526 MU in a single day. This milestone was accompanied by an all-time high peak generation of 2784 MW on by BBMB Power
