BBMB surpasses target

Bhakra Beas Management Board has surpassed the energy generation target set by Central Electricity Authority for the financial year 2012-13. BBMB generated 11,000 million units against target of 10,023 million units, which is 10 percent higher than the annual target. This splendid feat was facilitated by ensuring all time high machine availability of 95.6 percent as well as optimal water reservoir operations leading to effective utilization of inflows which also satisfactorily fulfilled drinking and irrigation water needs of beneficiary states and UTs for the third successive year since inception
